Civil War Reenacting and High Adventure

Mission:
To support the Fife and Drum Corps and other High Adventure activities
of B.S.A. Troop 53, Maytown PA

Youth Membership & Junior Leadership:
Venture Crew members may participate fully as members of the Fife and Drum Corps and as Civil War reenactors in the Field Music 1st P.R.V.C. and the Maytown 1860 Centennial Band, as well as many other Troop 53 high adventure activities.

Youth members, boys and girls must be between the ages of 14 and 21 and have completed the eighth grade. Jr Leaders of the Crew are expected to take a leadership role in the Fife & Drum or assist with Troop 53 activities.

Adult Leadership:
Many adult leaders, called Advisors, are experienced Assistant Scoutmasters from Troop 53 and other area scout troops who have scouts in the Fife and Drum Corps. In addition the Venture Crew is recruiting experts in the field, called "Crew Consultants," to help in specific skill areas of Civil War music instruction-fife, drum & bugle civil war camp and parlor house reenacting. The Venture Crew Committee is designed to provide support to the Crew and maintain close ties to Troop 53 and Civil War Explorer Post 1863.
